Every Flavor Magic 2026 Charcuterie: Vision Board

Here we are! 2026. New year, new flavors, and new kitchen chaos. I am starting with a vision board (because I adore making them) - The Every Flavor Magic 2026 Charcuterie.

I'd like this year to be about storytelling because there is so much to tell. The home chef is turning 40 this year and that needs to make a statement. My kitchen story is of curiosity, service to family, foodie adventures, celebration of life, and growing into a kitchen queen! It's been therapeutic, it's been entertainment, and above all it's a realization of one of my life's purposes. I have served my role as a responsible daughter catering to my parents' dietary needs. I have been the superstar 'Bua', cooking delicious recipes to please the palates of my adorable niblings. And on a deeper, personal level, I have been a learner, a magician, a scientist! My kitchen has been my school, my magical realm, my laboratory. From being absolutely terrified to light a match to frying, sizzling, stewing, and baking, I have watched myself grow. It's been a lesson in self-worth ('I can do things!'), creative confidence ('I know it's good!'), and courage.

The Charcuterie this year reflects my foodie manifesto based on reset and reflection, creativity, and celebration of myself. I plan on going beyond rituals and doing something for myself. I started with treating myself to a Chicken Biryani - made by myself for myself. More to follow. I hope to declutter for good because my 'magical realm' is struggling for some lightness. That unused (possibly not-functional) percolator has lived in the cabinet for too long. There are skills waiting to be learned: instant pot cooking, more meat baking, and recipes from new cuisines. I need to work on redeeming myself in some critical ways and indulge in conscious solo dating, cafe journaling, and food photography.

The adventure continues ...

December ABBietizer

Tis the season for hot Butterbeer! I’m manifesting the velvety, creamy deliciousness of the magical drink from the wizarding world. Oooh, I’ll have the hot one first, then the frozen one. Cauldron cake, sticky toffee pudding, chocolate chili ice cream … I’m dreaming it all.

Balochistan Resturaunt - Fairview New Jersey

Balochistan Restaurant in Fairview, New Jersey made my long sought dream of sitting in a “baithak” and sipping Dhoodhpatti Chai ☕️ come true. The food’s spice level was through the roof! There should be a little disclaimer for kidsπŸ”₯ The Aloo ka Samosa, Karachi Biryani and Haleem were on fire! Delicious though! The Quetta Karhai was mild. The Chai came as a tastebud tantalizer haha 🀣 If you know you know. Have mirchi and then sip Chai. The place was a tribute to Balochistan - the Pakistani province known for tribal folk culture, cured roasted meat delicacies, and folk music. The menu however did offer us the popular Aloo wali Karachi Biryani. We couldn’t do the Sajji because it was practically $100 something for the full goat! 🐐 When I arrived around 9, the place was packed so I got my “Baithak” experience towards the end. I was able to chill with the niblings, indulging in their stories as I sipped my Quetta Doodhpatti. There was a selection of Sufi / folk music performances playing on a wall mounted TV. During my stay I revisited Afreen by Rahat Fateh Ali and a sitar player performed a Harry Potter instrumental haha - talk about audience luck! I’ve never been to Balochistan but belonging to Karachi, a city in the neighboring province Sindh, I enjoyed the common cultural elements. The American born niblings needed a guided tour

The Abbietizer: October

Here I go 🍺 Butterbeer cheers! I announce The Abbietizer - Good food, great stories 🫢🏻 October shall be remembered as one awesome foodie month. Oooooooohhhh! Such funnn! Butterbeer, Pumpkin Pasty, Butterbeer muffins and cookies, Butterbeer sundae! Most definitely Butterbeer was the highlight because I traveled to enjoy the Butterbeer Cafe at the Harry Potter Shop New York.

A Toast to Epic 2025

Raising a toast to an awesome foodie year.

And so begins January 2025, an “Epic” year for new cookery and foodie adventures. That’s my hotel room view from the Cabana Bay Beach Resort Hotel, Orlando, FL. I was having “microwave ki Chai” made by my mother. She’s developed a formula for hotel room Chai. First, boiling water is brewed from a mini Keurig provided in the mini kitchen of our family suite and the Tapal Danedar tea bags are allowed to seep. Next, evaporated milk is added. Last, the cups are put in the microwave to heat/boil. Sara and I would text/call her before starting our walk back from the Universal parks so she would have the cup of Chai ready! Then we would sit down and chat about the day’s adventures over a piping hot cuppa before we would leave with her for a second trip of the day. The photo is our last microwave ki chai from the trip. We had the luggage cart ready to load, bags packed, and hearts heavy on leaving our happy place.

The Abbie Eats - Foodie Diaries

September took off with Butterbeer Cheers and foodie adventures followed.

I was at a Bazaar at the Turkish center. Besides spotting the usual Baklavah vendor, I crossed paths with a Turkish tea seller. I bet the giant golden kettle on his back was insulated or there was “protection” to prevent his behind from burning πŸ˜† At the Cafe I enjoyed some tea and Kidaif. I asked the staff how Kidaif was pronounced. Turns out the “D” is like the “th” in “the”. So it’s Ki-daa-iff.

More Chai followed at Panera Bread where I met a dear friend. I missed out on the Pumpkin cookies for the Niblings on my way out as they’d sold out. Next time!

Meanwhile, Bubbster dinners and kitchen madness continues. Sara and I plan on making more interesting dinner options for them for the flavorful season ahead. It started with Chapli Kabab Burgers by Sara. Yum!

The latest Desi store trip was bagging Halal marshmallows for S’mores weather approaching. Three Rivers, the Pakistani foods brand, has introduced Truck Art vibes in all its packaging! Love it!

The Abbie Eats 'Foodie Diaries' - A Fall to Remember

🍻 SEPTEMBER: Butterbeer and Fall Cheers πŸ‚ Magic begins! Pumpkin Soice Latte, Apple Cider, Apple Pie, Apple Cider Doughnuts, Spooky Chocolates, Chocolate Frogs, bottled Butterbeer, Popcorn with a scary movie! O! My Fall! It’s going to be incredible!

Fall is flavor, right? It makes your mind wander to eating and drinking, and cheat days *haha* What's the harm in being a little ... NAUGHTY?

Lately, it's been all about manifesting. I am manifesting a Fall to Remember. Last year's season was practically killed by stinking Muggleworks and dark forces at work. I would like to cozy up to the season and redeem the lost spirit this year.

I am thinking of pushing myself and remaking the Apple Spice bundt cake I made years ago. The Bubbsters would love that! It had a fancy chocolate drizzle going on top and all. I am also feeling very adventurous about a Butterbeer Latte being sold at a bistro in a local ghost town. Yes, you heard it right, ghost town. Spooks go with the season and my year round vibe *wink*

Pumpkn Spice, of course, continues to be a love/un-love flavor. I feel like mixing it up with Chai spice flavors makes it a whole new level of amazing. There's a new bundt cake place I found, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and they are selling a Pumpkin Spice bundtlette and I totally want to get that for the Bubbsters.
